One of the common ethical issue in health care promotion is patient's privacy and confidentiality. Its a major thing for health care providers to give privacy to patients and maintaining confidentiality regarding documentation. No one should be allowed to know the treatment or get access to information related to patient care and his identity so sharing information is to be done very cautiously with permission of authority.

from patient's point of view confidentiality and privacy is needed always as to safeguard himself. Dignity and respect doesn't lose and patient feels healthy and discusses the problems with health care providers without any hesitation. Involvement of people may harm patient's dignity.
from pprovider's point of view maintaining privacy and confidentiality helps in patient care as trust is build up so does the patient feels more relaxed to share her problems and thus information is being collected. It helps in treatment as data collection and assessment becomes easier.
