" What grade would you give the US economy right now? Why?
In the USA, you need to 13 before september to start 8th grade. so if you turned 13 in september or since then ,you would be in 7th grade , The school year generally runs from the beginning of september until the beginning of june the following year
Age at the start of a grade (before september)
12= 7th grade
13= 8th grade
14= Freshman in high school (9th grade)
15= sophmore in school (10th)
16=junior in HS (11th )
17=senior in HS (12th)
That ends required schooling .Most kids in the US are 18 when they graduate from high school, or turn 18 during the summer after .there are exceptions.A few kids skip grades or are held back. some states have different birthday cut off dates
Most kids start school at age 5 in kindergarten,which is sometimes called K5 or 5k. They go into 1st grade at age 6. some states require children to go to school starting with k5 , others require kids to be in school starting in 1st grade.
There is also k2, k3, and k4 ( 2,3 and 4 year old ) but they are fairly uncommon in the formal school system , and are basically day cares for toddles.
