Answer #1

Question-1

Given that the Saturn V booster rocket is powered by 810700 L of pure decane

Given that density of pure decane is 808 kg/m3

1 m3 volume occupies 1000 L of solution

Hence the density of decane can also be written as 808 kg / 1000 L

This means

1000 L volume of decane solution contains 808 kg of decane

then 810700 L volume of decane solution contains

810700 x 808 /1000 = 655045.6 kgs = 655045600 grams ( 1 kg = 1000 grams)

We have the molar mass of decane = 142.29 g/mol

We can calculate the number of moles from the formula

No. of moles = Weight / Molar mass

Therefore number of moles of decane = 655045600 / 142.29 = 4603595.474 moles

Thus the required number of moles of decane present in 810700 L of pure decane is 4603595.474 moles
