Nursing is an art and science.Having just the knowledge doesn't give a best result in achieving quality patient care without the "skills"

Elderly population are growing at a faster rate ,because of increased life expectancy due to medical advancement and low mortality rate due to disease condition. In 2050 these populations will outnumber as the major population group demanding for help in geriatric care.

Caring for the geriatric case gives a wide knowledge on various disease conditions and gives a brief knowledge on the mile stone development and end of human life.Different type of medical conditions from motor or physical problem to cognitive problems exist in them. The system or organs which functioned for years starts detoriating as we age so learning and developing skills in nursing them will be a talent filled with knowledge. Newer medicines and advanced technologies can be used in treating patient

At this stage patients if having mental illness needs a care like a baby ,It wil be a skill in assessing and providing them the most essential care.
