Carer are the group of people that provides support and care to disabled and ill individual may it be from their own family or as a health care user in a facility. The formal carer are the nurses and care assitant that are certified for caring process whereas, the informal carer are the family members, parents, children and relative or friends of individual suffering from any disease.

The government has produced some policies to safegaurd the rights of carers in the US. These policies are-

National Family Caregiver Support Program

This act enables the population of family care givers to achieve services such as respite, financial allowances and medicare.

RAISE (Recognize, Assit, Include, Support and Engage Family Caregivers Act

This act helps supporting informal carers, by information sharing, better coordination, and assiting for local efforts.
