Ans1. Legal and ethical considerations relating to an older persons privacy:

  1. Older person should have access to adequate food, water, shelter, clothing and healthcare through the provision of income, family and community support.
  2. The Older person privacy of stay: should be able to reside at home for as long as possible.

Ans2. Consumer directed care means a model of service delivery to provide more choices and flexibility to consumers .within aged care all home care packages must be delivered in a CDC basis. Its implications:

  • Support to access relevant information on the care that is best for th old aged.
  • A partnership approach and better quality partocipation.
  • Wellness and reablement
  • Greater transparency.

Ans 3. Disempowerment is forcible denial by one or more person or is when you feel you have no control over your life.

It is mildly negative interactions, such as invading patients privacy or disturbing patients while they are resting.

Examples 1. Scolding 2. Neglect and physical restraint

Ans 4. Reablement is providing services to help people regain the ability to perform their usual activities, like washing, cooking meals so they can do thing themselves again . Not only physical but even mental health to help them accommodate their illness. It is also known as restorative care

2 strategies 1. Engaging in appropriate physical activity, healthy eating, not smoking. 2. Supporting persons capacity to improve their physical , social and emotional functioning while encouraging them to live independently or autonomously.
