This an organizational management question. I need to find the independent variable, the dependent variable, the mediator and moderator ( if there is one) in this example. I also want to know if the data is nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio.

The questionnaires asked about the ease of use, efficiency, accessibility, etc. The results revealed that most employees were pleased with the system, but this reaction was dependent upon whether they had IT training in the past or not. In the example, the company wants to access the employees' expression for the computer system. Hence the dependent variable becomes "impression of the computer system" which is to be studied

The Independent variables are the responses for the questions in the questionnaire like ease of use, efficiency and accessibility etc. All these are Independent variables that together contribute to dependent variable.

Scale of measurements can be different for different variables. The dependent variable has ordinal scale of measurement as the responses can be ranked. Efficiency and accessibility are also ordinal as they are to be ranked or given some percentage. The data is mostle ordinal.
