Lets start setting up our long-term goals. What is the reason for you wanting to workout? Is there another reason that you want to workout; there can be more than two reasons?

Examples of Long-Term Goal:

I would like to workout daily for the rest of my life to stay healthy.

Removing excess weight and building muscle mass is the reason for working out.

I would like to be able to play games with my children or grandchildren when I get older without having a heart attack.

I would like to gain weight so I am not so thin.

I would like to be able to walk around and not get tired.

Gaining muscle mass and weight is the reason for my exercise program.

Decide what the reason or reasons for you to workout and write them down.

Reasons for wanting to workout:

(1) To get fitter.

Who on Earth will not want to be and look fitter and attractive? Working out helps in both.

(2) To gain self confidence

Its a proven fact that working out regularly helps in developing personality and intils a sense of confidence in people.

(3) To prevent diseases

Not working out may lead to obesity which becomes home to many diseases.
