Answer #1

We have implemented a new care pathway with the hope that it will help us to deliver excellent care to our patients with.increased coordination and quality. As you all know the aim of the health care pathway is to improve the overall efficiency, quality of care and not to increase the workload of staff. And, almost all the research studies support the need for changing the health care practices from time to time. Care pathways are a multidisciplinary tool that is proven to improving quality of care and patient satisfaction. We have decided to change our old method after many studies, discussions, and debates. While I agree that some friction exists in some areas due to the change, but, I am hopeful that within some days we can overcome that. As you may know, any kind of system change will bring some problems and unexpected issues but, I am confident that soon we all will become familiar and fluent with this new system which will make the staff's job easier and effective and not stressed. Besides that, the new system was implemented with the directions and approval of many departments and experts. A sudden go back into the old system is not easy without consulting them again. Finally, our unit will conduct a scientific study to understand whether there is any improvement in patient satisfaction following the implementation of the new care pathway or not. The unit will also study if there is any extra load for staff due to the new system if it is found that workload has increased I will ask the Nurse manager to allocate more staff as the workload has increased. .A  staff development program has also arranged for staff to familiarise themselves with the new care pathway method. I am confident that we can manage this problem satisfactorily, and please feel free to approach me for any further issues.
