Answer #1

Elementary reaction:

2A + B \rightarrow 1/2 Z

Rate of reaction = - 1/2 * d(A)/dt = k (A)2 (B) ...................i

After time 't' :    1/2 Z = 1/2 x

and (A) = (A)o - 2x = 2ao - 2x = 2 (ao - x) (2x molecule of A reacts to make 1/2 x )

(B) = (B)o - x =  (ao - x)   (x molecule of B reacts to make 1/2 x )

From (i) ; on putting values

- 1/2 * d(A)/dt = k (A)2 (B) =  k (2 (ao - x))2 *(ao - x)

or   - d(A)/dt = 8k (ao - x)3 ; So correct answer is (A).
