Self examination of testes is performed as a monthly examination. Comparison of one testicle with other can be helpful in detecting the deviation. Upon reaching the puberty all the men must conduct a monthly testicular self examination and here are the things to check for:
# examine the each testicle gently with both hands by rolling testicle between the thumb and the forefingers. Usually one testis is slightly smaller than the other but the specific changes to be noted.

# look for lumps or irregularities and these may present painless.

# start the circles in your armpit and move down to just below the line of bra and slide fingers just the width of one finger and moving up again. Do not lift fingers completely move to entire area using up and down vertical strip pattern.
# check inner half of your right breast. When you reach the nipple remove the pillow and roll on to your back remove your hand from your back. Carefully check nipple area using same circular pressure as before without squeezing.
Repeat same as for the next left breast.
The reason why these are suggested to the clients are to prevent cancer of testis or breast, for early diagnosis and treatment of carcinoma of testis and breast.
The breast examination receives the most public information as the cases being treated with breast cancer are more in light compared to testicular cancer. The government takes lot of initiatives in breast examination to women's and makes mandatory each and every women knows about it.
