Answer #1

A speech-language pathologist helps children with communications disorders by assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping in preventing the communication and swallowing disorders in patients. For doing all this they communicate with patients for an evaluation of their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the degree of communication problems making the patient complete a basic reading and vocalizing tasks or by giving standardized tests. After this, the treatment options are identified to create and carry out an individualized treatment plan. They teach patients to make sounds and improve their voices. Teach methods of communications, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability. Work with patients for improving their ability to read and write correctly. Work with patients in developing and strengthening the muscles used to swallow. Counsel patients and families for coping with communication disorders
