LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender

* Lesbian: a woman who is attracted, women

*Gay: A man whose is primary romantic, emotional, physical and sexual attractions are to other men

*Bisexual: A person who is sexually attracted to both sexes

*Transgender: People who appear to be biologically one sex but who identify with the gender of another

*Gender fluid: A specific identity or as a way of articulating the changing nature of one's gender identity or expression. People who are gender fluid may feel that their gender identity or expression is constantly changing or that it switches back and forth.

*Queer: A rejection of the gender binary(male/female) in favor of a more fluid, nontraditional identity

#ACLU: THe American Civil Liberties Union goal is to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country

-Basic Rights and Liberties:

-The ACLU works to ensure that LGBT people have equal opportunity to participate fully in civil society

-No LGBT person should experience discrimination in employment, housing, or in business and public places, or the suppression of their free expression or privacy rights.

-The ACLU seeks new laws against discrimination in states and at the federal level and resists all attempts to weaken the impact of existing nondiscrimination laws.

-With the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell, "our Discrimination Act.

#Solutions for LGBTQ issues:

*Safe working and learning environment is critical to building strong self-esteem and encouraging productivity LGBT people.

*There isn't a specific solution to LGBTQ discrimination.

*Specific initiatives are there to make a difference.

*Providing education, reviewing policies and intentionally creating a positive and learning environment are essential.

*All people have the equal right to access the health care, and thus improve their physical and mental health

# Federal regulations issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) governing health insurance marketplaces as well as regulations governing any health plan offering essential benefits bar discrimination in insurance provision based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The law includes additional protections under section 1557 including the prohibition of discrimination based on sex, defined to include gender identity and sex stereotypes, in any health program receiving federal funds such as Medicaid, Medicare, and providers who receive federal funds.

Covered entities must still comply with the law and those that do not could be liable if someone files a discrimination claim in court under Section 1557.

Sexual orientation protection remains unspecified under Section 1557 and because of gender identity protections under 1557 are threatened by ongoing litigation.

The Trump Administration has taken no action to finalize this regulation on April 2018.

The trump Administration has taken steps for "Conscience and Religious Freedom Division".LGBT advocates have said that the creation of this unit could suggest a move towards shielding health care workers from performing certain procedures or treating certain patients such as transgender patients based on personal moral objections.

#*Uphold the human rights of LGBT people and protect them against abuses such as violence and discriminatory laws and practices.

*Laws are used to harassing, detain, discriminate or place restrictions on the freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

*Give education to the general public that they are also the general population

*Promote supportive services to improve the schooling and employment of LBGT
