The two basic research approaches are as follows:-
Quantitative Research is based on Statistics- That is all the questions have to answered in numbers. There are Experiments conducted through surveys etc to get the answers in numbers. Then the researches analyse the numbers with statistics models to derive meaning from the data.
Qualitative Research- This research is more of descriptive. Here Experimentation is done by interviewing People. The observations thus noted are analysed through qualitative techniques. Then the trends are looked for with statistics, but the data is descriptive only not numbers
