1. Opioids are a class of drugs which are naturally found in the opium poppy plant and can be used as pain relief and the overdose of opioids causes a various effect in the brain including death. So physicians should be better educated about prescription and administrations of opioids. Opioid prescription varies from physician to physician but they must have the knowledge about the conditions they need to prescribe opioids or its dosages. Most of the opioids are prescribed and administrated from the emergency department. The physicians in the emergency department should take care of the opioid prescription through better education and they are not legally responsible for the consequences excluding overdose.

2. Non-opioid treatments are gaining huge popularity nowadays. It includes non-drug pain remedies such as massages and acupuncture, surgery, injections or nerve blocks, physical therapy etc. In addition to these, there are some high-tech methods developed to treat chronic pain. It includes treatment with radio waves and electrical signals, pain pumps and spinal cord simulation etc.
