1. Discuss a natural disaster or act of terrorism that has occurred in the last 15 years.

2. In your opinion, do you feel that the event was handled appropriately? Why or why not?

3. Do you have an emergency or disaster plan in place for your family? What does it involve?

1. A natural disaster which has occured consecutively two years is flood in Kerala . Due to excessive amount of rain ,the dams were at the verge of overflow and because of which the government passed the order to open the dams and the water reached the rural areas affecting thousands of people's life . Many districts were vanished out . No clue of existence was left at these areas .

2. According to me ,the event was not handled appropriately because it was the secons time happening . They must have learnt from past experience . The government must have made arrangements to transfer the peole from the rural alert areas to safer places by making them understand the seriousness of the situation . The dams must have been opened after shifting the peoples .

3. Yes , there is a disaster plan for my family . It involves :-

- posting emergency telephone numbers

- designation of emergency meeting places for family

- determine the family emergency contact

- conduct a mock test

- prepare a kit containing :-

- medicines and first aid kits

- flashlight ,radio , battery

- important documents , cash

- blankets and extra clothes

- personal sanitary items
