To analyze project success or failure , one should use the following methods of projects evaluation:
There are four types of project evaluations
(a) Periodic inspections, ongoing reviews, milestone evaluations, and final project audit.
(b) Quality inspections, ongoing reviews, periodic evaluations, and final project audit.
(c) Schedule reviews, team performance reviews, milestone evaluations, and final project audit.
(d) Schedule reviews, financial reviews, scope reviews, and final project audit.
An effective project team should possess the following characteristics and the strength or the benefits the characteristics provide:
1. Clear and defined Objectives or goals - If the objectives and goals are clearly defined in a project team then the team is aware of what they are responsible of and the actions of the team will be strictly goal oriented.
2. Clear and defined role and responsibilities - Each and every team member needs to be aware of the of their roles and responsibilities that they need to have which will segregate each and every item of the project and increase productivity and performance.
3. Communication - The team should follow an effective communication process so that there is trust and bonding in the team which will help ensure that the whole team is in sync.
4. Decision Making and Problem solving - The ability is most important in the team and the team should be able to provide more than one option or suggestion or idea which will make the team take the right decisions.
5. Conflict Management - Conflict in a team is quite inevitable and it is normal but it should be managed effectively so that the team atmosphere is positive throughout.
If the plan is not prepared properly than chances of wastage of the resources is higher. Due to which the cost for the company will increase and that will reduce the profit for the company. So, management will need to plan the same.
Threats are easier to grasp because when they occur there is a negative impact on the project objectives. An opportunity is a risk event that when it occurs results in a favorable or advantageous impact on project objectives. Dealing with major threats obviously needs to be done on projects, but don't forget to consider and take advantage of opportunities. Many people have a difficult time thinking of project opportunities.

2. Evaluate Candidate Behavioral Skills
Projects are great at determining who is showing the necessary behavioral skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence. You can put groups of potential hires into team projects with specified roles, then analyze how they work together and react in real-life situations.
It is important to hire people that understand how to work through conflicts, know to ask the right question, and provide innovative solutions. In team settings, there are lots of factors involved to work together with your coworkers and successfully deliver on time.
3. Signs of Leadership
Every position requires good leadership skills. Even entry-level positions require it in some form. Although they will be doing more reporting to managers than anything else during projects, showing leadership in tasks no matter how small will be telling how they handle bigger ones.
4. Cultural Fit
Projects are not only great at evaluating candidates in real-time, but also give the candidate insight into the company culture and the types of projects they might be working on. They are able to interact with current employees and try their hand at tasks that they will be assigned if they are hired.
5. Mentorship Opportunities
Not only do projects help develop candidates, but it also gives your department heads, hiring managers, and people in leadership roles the chance to become heavily involved in the process as mentors. They will be to track candidate progress by watching their performance and learn valuable mentoring skills.
6. Career Growth
Aside from asking people: “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” it is hard to determine what the growth plan for that individual looks like. Most likely, you want employees that are going to stay with you for the long-term and move on a linear path of growth at your company.
