1) The advantages of integration of safety into corporate culture are:

• presence of adequate safety devices in the workplace promotes a healthy work place and healthy employees. Healthy employees are a valuable asset to an organisation, they work better towards growth and prosperity of an organisation.
• Help grow the business, profit and build the reputation of the company.
• A positive culture creates a sense of employee loyalty. Employees are much more likely to keep working with their current employer when they feel they are treated right and enjoy going to work every day.

2) Employers cannot put profit above safety – they should have sufficient control measures to protect the employees at work.

Several disasters of profit before safety are:

• This example shows that how putting profit before safety has several disastrous implications ,which we should take notice of. This is the tragic incident caused by ‘peanut curry’, where a restaurant owner was convicted of for supplying a curry made with peanut oil to a customer who suffered from a peanut allergy. During the case, it was noticed that the owner, Mr Z, has been very careless in his actions by sacrificing safety for the sake of profit. Apparently, Mr Z was is debt and used cheaper ingredients in the curry to cut costs, which included peanuts. The food was then supplied on the basis of being ‘nut-free.’
• On December 3 1984, more than 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide plant in Bhopal, India, immediately killing at least 3,800 people and causing premature death for many thousands of more people. This became the worst industrial accident in history . The disaster indicated a need to enforce international standards for environmental safety, preventative strategies to avoid such accidents in the future.
