Formula:

units/ hr = total number of units in volume × IV rate in mL/ volume of IV fluid in mL × time (hr)

units/hr = 100000 units × 0.08 mg/ 1000 ml× 1 hr × 60

To be divided by 60 as to calculate in hour & 80 mcgtts in mg is 0.08

1 liter = 1000 ml

Units/hr= 0.133
