The instructing parents of small children.the most important topic is

a)Promoting good sleep because,it is primary activity for brain development.Circadian rhythms, or the sleep-wake cycle, are regulated by light and dark and these rhythms take time to develop, resulting in the irregular sleep schedules of newborns.

Sleep tips:

  • Observe baby's sleep patterns and identify signs of sleepiness.
  • Put baby in the crib when drowsy, not asleep.
  • Place baby to sleep on his/her back with face and head clear of blankets and other soft items.
  • Encourage nighttime sleep.

c)Good Nutrition:

Children have the right to a caring, protective environment and to nutritious food and basic health care to protect them from illness and promote growth and development.

  1. 1. Child should grow well and gain weight rapidly from birth to age two ,children should be weighted every month.
  2. Breast milk is the only food and drink an infant un till the age of 6months.After 6months,the child needs a variety of food along with breast milk.
  3. Children needs Vit-A to resist illness and prevent visual impairment.Vit-A can be found in many fruits,breast milk,Eggs.
  4. Children need iron rich food to protect their physical and mental abilities.
  5. Iodized salt is essential to prevent learning disabilities and delay development in children.During an illness, children need to continue to eat regularly. After an illness, children need at least one extra meal every day for at least a week.
