You review the rights of medication administration. Your patient is confused and can’t verify their identity other than stating their name.

1.How will you implement the medication right of “right person”?

2.How many ml’s of heparin will you draw up and give to the patient?

3.How many puffs of fluticasone will the patient take per dose? How many puffs will the patient take per day? Should the patient use a spacer while using this MDI? Why or why not?

4.Describe the process of preparing and administering these medications.

5.You scan the drug using barcoding technology. The technology agrees you have the right drug, so you administer the drug. You later realize that you actually administered albuterol. Would you be held accountable for this medication error? Why or why not?

1.By identification band of the client can find the name and IP number of the client and do cross check with the name in the prescription chart and patient chart thus can give right drug to the right person.

2.Heparin 0.75 ml should be given.(1÷10000)×7500

3.Generally can take 2 puffs twice daily.As a MDI it can preset as needed dose.Spacer can be used it helps for more ease of medication administration.

4.While administration of MDI remove the cap of the inhaler and shake it for a while check the dose place the mouthpiece between the teeth and hold it around then press top of the inhaler the drug will be administered now hold the breath for 10 seconds then breath out repeat again for another puff and close the inhaler cap.
