With so many risk factors at the age of 55, there is definitely a high chance of getting a heart disease.but controlling and modifying the following risk factors can surely make the probabilities fall down.

Type 2 diabetes-use traditional oat meals, wheat flour, brown or wild rice instead of refined flour. regularly monitor your blood sugar levels and be regular in visiting your physician. monitor the calories carefully.

High blood pressure- reducing salt and salty sauces or processed packed food stuffs. reducing stress and tension from life. meditation aids in this.

Physical activity- following a healthy eating plan and avoiding unhealthy oil sources as well as following a strict pattern of physical activity in her life should bring large scale improvements. brisk walking daily twice a day should be promoted. WHO and experts say that 30 minute of physical activity on most of the days of week in moderate intensity should be done.

Overweight- inactivity and sedentary life style would promote overweight more and more. exercise and eating regulated healthy food helps. high fibre fruits, vegetables, whole grams, fat free dairy, low fat food in addition to lean sources of protein like olive oil, sea food should be taken. even 7-10%of weight loss can help to reduce chances of high blood pressure, poor blood glucose levels and cholesterol.

Low HDL/ high density lipid levels- avoid trans fat and saturated fats ( butter, red meat etc.). eat fish instead of red meat. take fruits in more amounts.

High LDL/ low density lipid levels- focus on mono-saturated (olive oil, avocado, cashews, walnuts) fats as it decreases the harmful LDL levels. also poly unsaturated also helps in combating type 2 diabetes also. smoking should be stopped as it is shown to have decreased the good cholesterol ie, HDL.

in addition to all this, a regular intake of proper medication and regular check ups and visits to your doctor will always prevent you from impending danger.
