He has several risk factors: old age, type 1 diabetes, high blood pressure, smoker, family history of heart disease, overweight, inactive, and has low HDL cholesterol and high LDL cholesterol levels. Therefore, Joe thinks that heart disease is inevitable and there’s nothing he can do. Of his listed risk factors, which ones does he actually have control overand what actions can he take to possibly change his fate?

Answer: Obesity is one of the major causes which invites many other diseases. Obesity causes cardiovascular disease, diabetes as well as Hypertension. Obesity can be controlled which automatically manage the hypertension and diabetes. The reduction in the weight may also decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Obesity can be managed by healthy dieting, eating fresh fruits and vegetables as well including exercise which burns fat. Joe should avoid eating that contains saturated fat as it causes increase in bad cholesterol level in the body. Healthy diet and lifestyle enables to conquer and reduce the risk of developing any kind of disease.
