o= Amide – R-C-NE R= H or R = is on Alkyl group Alkyl group Ester – R-Ć -o-R R are alkyl groups

The electron deficiency of Carbon with double bond of Oxygen in ester is more when compared the one in Amide group.

So when dissolved in water the OH- ions in water react faster and more with ester than amide.So the solubulity of ester is more than solubulity of amide
