Answer #1

Q5:

H2 has lesser molecular mass than D2 that means there are lesser intermolecular forces of attraction among H2 molecules . Hence H2(l) will have higher vapor pressure .

Q6 :

PbCl2 and PbCl4 are two chloride of lead .

Group 14 elements show oxidation state of +2 and +4 compounds . PbCl2 would be predominantly ionic in nature but PbCl4 would be covalent in nature . Because as the oxidation state of metal increases it's polarizing power increases and there is development of covalent nature in ionic compounds .

Q7:

H-F forms stronger hydrogen bonding than water due to more Delta positive charge on hydrogen because of higher electronegativity difference between H and F .

But there are two lone pairs on oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms present in water molecule . Water molecule has 2 hydrogen donor atoms and 2 hydrogen acceptor atoms . Water molecule forms 4 hydrogen bonds and well packed crystal structure . Hence higher melting point than HF .

HF has zig zag chain like structure which is less efficiently packed than ice crystals .
