Where a beta particle is an electron.

The number of moles of K we start with is:

10.00g 12 39.9640g/mol = 0.2502 moles 39.99

So we obtain the same number of moles of Ca and beta particles, which are equivalent to a mass of:

m = 0.2502 moles. 39.96269 4 +0.2502 moles. 0.00059 ī = 9.9998 g

The difference, which is 0.0002 g is released as energy:
