- Always take complete history of the patient,

- Ask about the lifestyle of the patient,as it plays a major role,

- Should know about the all blood glucose tests and their normal values :- fasting blood sugar ( 70-110mg/dl) , oral glucose tolerance test, A1C test, glycated haemoglobin, glycosylated haemoglobin test, etc.

- All investigations should be done as soon as possible,

- should obeserve the sign and symptoms of diabetes like blurred vision, polydipsia, polyphagia and polyurea mainly,

-should consider the factors influencing the condition.
