Question1 6 pts Use the following information for questions 1-6 You work as an epidemiologist at the local public health department in Pontiac, MI, and a potential outbreak of tuberculosis has occurred in Pontiac, MI and the surrounding communities. Suppose that Pontiac, MI and its surrounding communities have a population of 90,000. In the past month, 233 cases of tuberculosis have been confirmed within the community. You are interested in finding the location where the exposure occurred to begin to investigate who might be the index case in the potential outbreak and to be able to pursue identifying other cases. You find that there are places in common where several of those who were ill went. To investigate, you identify 3 controls for every case using random digit-dialing and ask them about the places that they have frequented as well. Controls are matched to cases on race, age, and gender. There were 699 controls used for your investigation. Of the 233 people who did get ill, 74 went to the Bower Pool, 219 went to Theater Majestico, and 17 went to Pontiac Public Library (remember, people could have gone to more than one of the places). Of the 699 controls (people who did not get il), 289 went to the Bower Pool, 14 went to Theater Majestico, and 132 went to the Pontiac Public Library.
