Individualism and collectivism are based on interdependence within a society.

Individualists promotes the ideology of being independent. The focus is on individual. It encourages self reliance.

Collectivists give priority to groups over individuals. They prefer in groups over out groups. They exhibit interdependence and inter personal relationships in groups.
