Chest pain is a common symptom that can be caused by several conditions .

  • Nitroglecerin is a drug that dilates blood vessels ,it is commonly used to relieve chest pain caused by caronary artery disease .
  • It also relaxes the smooth muscles of vessels and can relieve the chest pain .

What are the reasons for nitro not work to mrs. Smith :

  • When this medication is used for a long time ,it may not work as well and may require different dosing .
  • If we used nitroglecerin more than 24 hours,it will not work for the patient and do not relieve the chest pain .
  • If we taken with full meals orally ,drug will interact with gastric content in the stomach and may not relieve the chest pain .
  • Drug will not work when something prevent blood flow to heart muscles .
  • Drug will not work ,if she taken low dose other than required dose .
  • If she is having tolerance to nitro ,it wont work for chest pain
  • If she having chest pain because of other causes such as gastric pain ,muscle strain ,panic attack ,asthma and. GERD etc .
