Answer #1

Balanced chemical equation is:

CH4 + 2 O2 ---> CO2 + 2 H2O

Molar mass of CH4,

MM = 1*MM(C) + 4*MM(H)

= 1*12.01 + 4*1.008

= 16.042 g/mol

mass of CH4 = 7.08 g

mol of CH4 = (mass)/(molar mass)

= 7.08/16.04

= 0.4413 mol

According to balanced equation

mol of O2 formed = (2/1)* moles of CH4

= (2/1)*0.4413

= 0.8827 mol

Molar mass of O2 = 32 g/mol

mass of O2 = number of mol * molar mass

= 0.8827*32

= 28.25 g

Answer: 2.82*10^1 g
