Classified as the loop diuretic.

Action: It inhibit the luminal Na-K-Cl cotransporter in the loop of Henle, by binding chloride transport channel, which enables the loss of sodium, potassium and chloride loss.

Used to treat fluid retention,CHFand in nephrotic syndrome.

Adverse effects: Diarrhea, constipation, headache and blurred vision.

It is contraindicated in patient with anuria.Also it is used in renal diseases.
