Answer: Antidiabetic medications are used to treat the chronic disease that is diabetes. Diabetes is a condition where the blood sugar levels becomes abnormal. One of the most common diabetic medication used is the Metformin. It belongs to the class of biguanides. It is used in type 2 diabetes.

It is used in the diabetes Mellitus. The side effects and adverse reaction includes:

  • Weight loss
  • Gas
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Muscle weakness.

Metformin is contraindicated in pregnancy as well as in hypersensitivity. It is orally administeredadministered and should be taken with food to reduce the gastric symptoms.
