GI - It means gastrointestinal tract, It starts from Mouth and ends at the anus. The basic function of the GI tract is Digestion and absorption of food.

Mastication - It basically defines as chewing of food at the mouth.

Saliva amylase - it is the digestive enzyme secreted by salivary glands, it is known as ptyalin. It initiates the digestion of carbohydrates in the oral cavity.

proton pump - It is otherwise known as the hydrogen potassium ATPase. it is found in parietal cells which helps in acidification of stomach.

H2 Receptors - it means histamine receptors. It is a receptor for histamine which helps in secretion of gastric juice.

Stomach pH - It is maintained by the gastric acids secreted by parietal cells of the stomach. It ranges from 1.5 to 3.5.
