Answer #1

The legal standards which has to be uphold in a disaster situation is everyone deserves the right to live, conducting a procedure like euthanasia should be legally informed to the patients relatives. The health care workers should always follow the principle of ethics like nonmaleficience, autonomy, respect and justice.Compared to the ethical rights the legal rights dominates in these situations as a way to save more lives

In most situations they cannot maintain the same standard which is followed in the normal conditions. The number of victims out number the facilities available so in disaster the triage is followed to segregate patients and provide care.

In ethics there are black and white Ares which are clear cut in nature but there's las an area called grey which is in between both  .The things go disastrously wrong when the healthcare team takes a decision which is against law but can save many lives by costing few lives (euthanasia in Hurricane Katrina when flood engulfed the hospital and the most critical cases were euthanized )
