Answer #1

The hurricane Katrina signifies that the nature is the ultimate decision maker.Even if an hospital is prepared for disasters ,if the natural disaster happened is beyond the human will power, then the humans just has to watch or succumb to the situation. The most shocking and the disturbed thing in this book is euthanasia ,a docyor and 2 ICU nurses euthanized very critically ill patients who cannot be survived. The identification of morphine in these patients blood melts anyone's heart. In certain cases it describes the effects of the staff in saving the lives of patients who can survive in the horrific condition with no power, air conditions, lights and necessary equipment to survive..It makes everyone surprised that hospital is a place where a sick patient can get help but if the hospital itself is in shortage of providing the care due to natural disaster it makes everyone to be humble and help each other during critical stages and maintain unity.
