BENIFITS OF REGULATORY AGENCIES PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES:

Healthcare regulatory agencies monitor healthcare practitioners and facilities, provide information about industry changes , promte safety and ensure legal compliance and quality services.

fedarl, state and local regulatory agencies often establish rules and regulation for the healthcare industry, and their oversight is mandatory.

some agencies, such as those for accreditation ,require voluntary participation but are important because they provide ranking or certification of quality .

A collection of agencies regulate and govern the technological side of health care in the u.s . the center for medicare and medicaid services (CMS) and the office of the national coordinator for health IT both play role as healthcare compliance resources and regulators of the meaningful use program.

FDA -the food and drug administration is responsible for the oversight of drugs , medical devices ,vaccines ,blood products and biologics , establishing rules for testing , clinical trails and approval of new products .

AHRQ- the agency for healthcare research and quality(AHRQ) is a federal agency under health and human services working to improve the quality, effectiveness and safety of health care . AHRQ gather information in surveys , funds research projects and provides evidence based practice guildelines for healthcare practitioners

CMS- the center for medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) work with healthcare providers to ensure quality , efficient and cost -effective care for those who are older adults , disable or low income .

CMS establishes reimbursement levels and standards of care and works to modernize the health care and works to modernize the health care industry such as implementing electronic record

CDC- the center for disease control and prevention monitors and controls infectious disease and assists other local , national and international agencies / facilities to prevent the spread of disease

CDC requires healthcare providers to report some infectious disease , maintains statistics of rate of infection and provide resources such as infection control and treatment guidelines and research personnel

OSHA - the occupational safety regulations regarding workers . OSHA provides on -site inspections to evaluate workplace hazards , investigates accidents and provides educational materials to promote workplace safety , such as guidelines for working in hot weather.
