DVT means Deep vein thrombosis.If there is blood in the body it may increase the chance of DVT. it mainly occurs in the age of 50 years and more than that. It is found in the overweight people. There are so many risk factors for DVT, some of the major risk factors for DVT are following----

1. If a person is suffering from obesity since long time there is a chance for DVT.

2.Bed rest from long time. If a person was admitted in the hospital for long duration due to some disease they may cause for DVT.

3. If a person is taking birth control pills from a long duration.

4.During pregnancy it increase the pressure in the veins . There is a chance to clot the blood.

5. Smoking - it affects clot the bloodand blood circulation in the body. It also may be the cause for DVT.

6. Cancer - There are many types of cancer, but some type of cancer may increase the blood clot.
