Essential hypertension is called a silent killer because it does not show any signs and symptoms and people doesn't know they have it. This leads to a serious life-threatening problem of stroke, heart attack, and kidney diseases. some of the non-modifiable risk factors are

• Family history increases the chance of high blood pressure.
• Age: As age increases, blood pressure increases.
• Gender: Men are more likely to get high BP than women.
• Race: African American have increased the risk of BP.

Some of the modifiable factors are

• Lack of Physical activity: Lifestyle practices increases the chance of essential hypertension. Unhealthy diet, drinking too much alcohol, smoking, high cholesterol practices increase the risk of high blood pressure.
• Obese: Obese increases the risk of hypertension and leads to cardiac problems.
• Stress: Too much of Stress along with other factors increase the risk of blood pressure.
