  • ,Thiazide, potassium sparing diuretics and Loop diuretics are commonly used diuretics in patient with acute renal failure. It reduce blood pressure and swelling (edema ). It maintain potassium level in hyperkalemia. Thiazide act on distal tubules, loop diuretics act on ascending limb of loop of henley and potassium sparing on collecting tubules.
  • Disadvantage : Diuretics administration causes hypotension, decreased GFR, hypokalemia etc.
