Answer #1

1.Prescribed Order =25 grams of 50 % Dextrose IV push

Available dose = 50 grams per 50 ml

how much ml required= (what prescribed \div what we have) \ast volume of what we have

=(25\div50) x 50

=25 ml

2.Prescribed dose =300 mg ranitidine PO

Available dose = 150 mg/tablet

How many tablets required =(what prescribed \div what we have) \ast volume of what we have

=( 300\div150) x 1

=2 tablets

3,Prescribed dose= 30 units insulin

Available dose = 100 units per ml

ML of insulin required =(what prescribed \div what we have) \ast volume of what we have

=(30\div 100) x1

=0.3 ml
