Answer: Due to diversity in the population, it is necessary to understand the demand and need of the cultural competence. The self knowledge plays major role as it enable us to indulge ourselves to understand the value, tradition of the other culture.

The cultural self assessment improves the professionals understanding of values, needs and belief of the other culture. It enhances our learning skills and make us to understand the ethical concern regarding the cultural differences.

To provide quality of care to the patients it is necessary to provide them cultural competence environment so that they can feel comfortable and can easily discuss their problems. The cultural competence removes the barrier of the miscommunication.
