0.4 g = 400 mg

So 400 mg of amikacin has to be administered.

250 mg in 1 ml

400 mg in = 1/250 * 400 = 1.6 ml

So 1.6 mk of amikacin should be administered to the IV.

It is to be diluted in 100 ml of D5W and then run over 39 minutes.

So total volume of the solution = 100+1.6 = 101.6 ml

Rate = 101.6/39 = 2.6 ml/min

10 gtt=1 ml

2.6 ml = 2.6 * 10 = 26 gtt

So drops per minute = 26
