Cancer is described as abnormal growth and multiplication of unhealthy cells.The main treatment line being radiation, chemotherapy and medication.

Healthcare associated infection is also called as nosocomial infection or hospital acquired infection. Some of the intervention to prevent or reduce HAI are

• Strict handwashing to prevent cross contamination
• Removal of unnecessary invasive lines (catheters- IV, Foley's,drains,tubes,central line)
• Following strict surgical sepsis while performing surgery.
• Isolation of infected patients

The intervention demonstrates primary level of prevention.Major complications can be avoided if this is practiced in the healthcare sector

For example :

Removal of ornaments from a sick patient are encouraged in healthcare sector to prevent the lodging of microorganisms in it and causing infection.tHis intervention can be modified by using a sterile drape or cover on it to prevent transmission of infection.
