Type 2 diabetes mellitus is Non insulin dependent,involving both genetic and environmental factors.

*Age of onset: Mainly seen after age 30 years and also occur in children.

*Clinical manifestations: Usually asymptomatic, polyuria,nocturia, polydipsia etc.

*Investigation: Blood sugar Monitoring, fasting blood sugar, 2 hour PPBS,HbA1c, C-peptide level,urine analysis.

*Management: Weight management, exercise, oral medication, insulin

*Complication: DKA, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, peripheral vascular disease, retinopathy, neuropathy, etc.
