The cells gets exposed to ionizing radiation from any particular source, it damages the DNA of the cell and also cause the cells to become cancerous at some point. This process results in high degree burns to greater depth.
Health promotion-
Apply suns-cream and preventive garments during sun exposure.
Assessment-
Risk factors-
Sun exposure, xray exposure, rays from electric equipment etc.
Findings-
Patient has developed third degree sun burns that are type of radiation burn.
Lab test- burn evaluation test, that helps in evaluating the degree of burn and extent of burn.
Diagnostic procedure- physical examination, electrolyte imbalance and assessment.
Patient-centered care-
Nursing interventions-
Provide electrolyte balance, wound cleaning and dressing and mental health counselling.
Medication-
Electrolyte, NSAIDS for pain relief, topic ointments
Therapeutic procedure- providing wound care, skin care, infection control
Client education- avoid exposure to water and further cause of radiation, avoid any form of fluid exposure or infectious exposure
