Steps we follow to write a net ionic equation are:

1. Balance the chemical equation.

2. Break the aqueous species into their corresponding ions and the solid, liquid and gas phase species remain unchanged.

3. Cancel out the spectator ions( ions that are present on both the reactant and the product side).
