(a) Given balance equation is :

2HBr(aq) + Ba(OH)₂(aq) --> 2H₂O(l) + BaBr₂(aq)

Ionic equation is :

2H⁺ (aq) + 2Br^- (aq) + Ba²⁺ (aq) + 2OH^- (aq) --> 2H₂O(l) + Ba²⁺(aq) + 2Br^-(aq)

Net ionic equation after the cancellation of spectators ions i.e. Ba²⁺ and Br^- on both sides is :

2H⁺ (aq) + 2OH^- (aq) --> 2H₂O(l)

(b) Given balance equation is :

HClO₂ (aq) + NaOH (aq) --> H₂O(l) + NaClO₂(aq)

Ionic equation is :

H⁺ (aq) + ClO₂^- (aq) + Na⁺ (aq) + OH^- (aq) --> H₂O(l) + Na⁺ (aq) + ClO₂^- (aq)
