Evidence Based Practice( EBP)

EBP is the utilization of research evidence in the area of clinical practice and delivery of quality health care.

Effective way of Communication of Research and EBP projects to Staff nurses:

Communication of Research and EBP findings are necessary for the profession to develop its body of knowledge and to upgrade the standards and to incorporate changes into the existing system. Communication of Research findings can be formal or informal. Effective way of communicating research and EBP projects to staff nurses especially to the advanced practice nurses is Presentation of findings at various hospital staff meetings,unit or department meetings and Continuing educational / In service education activities.

Other ways of communicating research and EBP projects to staff nurses are publishing in professional Journals, Oral or Poster presentation at nursing conferences( state or national or international) and presentation of results in Jounal clubs.

Appropriate audience can be ensured by the way a researcher select for disseminating his research findings. First of all researcher had to identify the target audience and their needs. Select a method , that will enable the researcher to disseminate his findings effectively and its maximum. Avoid technical terms as much as possible, state objectives clearly to the audience,make the presentation attractive by slides and graphic medium. Slides or Posters should not be too overloaded.
