2. Using 6-10 g/kg of carbohydrates to determine carbohydrate needs, how many grams of carbohydrates do you suggest he should be consuming? Choose a range based on where he is in his cycle or stage of training. I indicated he is two days from his event. Follow the steps:

a. Convert his weight to kilogramsremember, 2.2 lbs=1 kg

b. Decide what gram range (6-10 g/kg) you want him to be in and calculate it. How many grams of carbohydrates did you decide?

160 Ibs=??

Cross multiply and divide

=72.7 kg (160×1÷2.2)

b.Given 6_10gm/kg

Then for 72.7 kg=??

= 436.2gm (72.7×6÷1) ,727gm (72.7×10÷1)

He should be given 436gm to 727 gm of carbohydrate a day

b.As the recommended carbohydrate intake is 225_325gm / day .Usually in a hour 30_60gm of carbohydrate is recommended during exercise or activities. Determining this value in grams gives a clear knowledge on the intake and calculation of calorie is simpler

That is nearly 1744 kcal to 2908kcal is received from his carbhohydrate  

(1gm carbohydrate =4kcal )

436×4=1744kcal and 727×4=2908kcal
